Who is ready to sign for 8.5% of additional sales … thanks to 3D?
Van Tilburg University, in Netherlands, has recently highlighted the results of a study conducted in partnership with Red Bull and Exxon in Holland.
The principle was simple: three displays of Red Bull cans were set up in three different Exxon stations.
The first display did not include any screen, the second had a classic 2D screen and finally the 3rd was equipped with an autostereoscopic screen (3D without glasses ). On each screen was broadcast a 10-second spot showing just a can of Red Bull turning on itself.
Ms. Van Grootel of Tilburg University has collected more than 15,000 “eye-tracking”, thanks to software developed by Fraunhofer, and interviewed more than 180 passing customers in this study.
The results speak for themselves!
- A customer spends 45% more time in front of a commercial broadcasted on a 3D without glasses screen than in a conventional screen
- Exxon station equipped with a 3D display without glasses saw its sales increased by 8.5%
The study was done on a spot whose content was basic … Imagine increasing your sales tomorrow with a 3D quality content!
